Gingerbread Coffee Syrup

Homemade gingerbread coffee syrup with brown sugar, molasses, and warm spices. A sweet and spiced syrup that makes every coffee taste like Christmas morning.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. In a small saucepan, whisk together water, brown sugar, molasses, and spices.
  2. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat; cook until sugar dissolves and mixture slightly thickens, 5 - 7 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Cool completely, then pour into a clean bottle or jar.

Notes

Serving:
Stir 1 - 2 tablespoons into hot coffee or lattes for a cozy gingerbread flavor.
Storage:
Store sealed in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.  Shake well before each use.
