Ingredients

  • cups all-purpose flour spooned and leveled
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • cups milk plus more as needed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter melted and cooled slightly, or neutral oil
  • Butter or oil for the pan

Method

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  5. Pour about ¼ cup of batter onto the hot skillet for each pancake.
  6. Cook until bubbles form on top and the edges begin to set, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  7. Flip and cook another 1 to 2 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Serve warm with butter, syrup, or your favorite toppings.

  • Do not overmix the batter.A few lumps are perfectly fine.
  • Add a splash more milk if needed.
